Dark chocolate orange oatmeal cookies

I am found of the orange flavor in cakes, tea cakes and thought why not experiment and try it out in a cookie as well ! Try out these super delicious oatmeal orange cookies and share your feedback .

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 100 g extra dark chocolate cut into fine pieces
  • Juice of one orange
  • Grated orange rind from one orange
  • 2 1/2 cups old fashioned rolled oats

Method

  • Pre heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Line up the baking tray with parchment paper or grease with cooking spray
  • Beat the butter and brown sugar in a stand mixer or a bowl and whisk until it’s smooth and creamy
  • Gently beat in the orange juice, chocolate and orange rind
  • Gradually fold in the flour and oats
  • Drop the mixture by rounded tablespoons 2 inches apart onto the baking sheet
  • Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-15 minutes until brown on both sides
  • Once baked cool the cookies on a cooling rack
  • Store in air tight containers and enjoy with your evening tea
