Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
- 100 g extra dark chocolate cut into fine pieces
- Juice of one orange
- Grated orange rind from one orange
- 2 1/2 cups old fashioned rolled oats
Method
- Pre heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
- Line up the baking tray with parchment paper or grease with cooking spray
- Beat the butter and brown sugar in a stand mixer or a bowl and whisk until it’s smooth and creamy
- Gently beat in the orange juice, chocolate and orange rind
- Gradually fold in the flour and oats
- Drop the mixture by rounded tablespoons 2 inches apart onto the baking sheet
- Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-15 minutes until brown on both sides
- Once baked cool the cookies on a cooling rack
- Store in air tight containers and enjoy with your evening tea
