Radish & Greens Salad

Looking for a way to make use of the radish leaves? Do you know those green tops are not only tasty but highly nutritious as well. Try out this radish salad. My Great Grandmother in law also made radish salad often, with just grated radish, lemon and salt. This recipe adds the greens and tomatoes.

This is adapted from Vijaya Balu and Lalitha Nalin’s recipe. This in turn is from an old recipe clipping from the Hindu. The newspaper recipe clipping collection is a treasured gift from my Mom

  • Grated radish – 250 g
  • Finely chopped radish leaves – one bunch from the radish
  • Lemon – 1 big
  • Tomato – 1 big
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Wash and clean the radish and radish leaves well
  • Wash and clean the tomato
  • Chop the radish leaves, tomato finely
  • Mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl
  • Add the salt and pepper to taste and squeeze the lemon and sprinkle the juice. Mix well with a fork

Serve the salad as soon as you make it  for a fresh taste and enjoy 😊

Note: You can add grated carrots, onions to this salad for a variation
