Spicy Vegetable Bath

  
Spicy vegetable bath is a combination of rava ( semolina ), vegetables, masalas and ghee.  This is my Mom’s recipe and makes a really tasty breakfast. This is one of my favorite dishes and so delicious that I can just gobble this dish in minutes 😊

Ingredients 

  • Coarse semolina – 1/4 kg
  • Ghee – 125 g
  • Green chillies – 2 to 3
  • Ginger – 1″ piece
  • Garlic – 1 clove
  • Cinnamon, Clove, Cardamom – 1 piece
  • Coriander leaves – a small bunch
  • Onion – 3 small or 2 big
  • Coconut – 1/4 of a coconut 
  • Tomato – 125 g
  • Green peas – 25 g
  • Beans – 5 to 6
  • Carrot – 2
  • Knol knol – 1
  • Turmeric powder – a pinch 
  • Salt, as required

Method 

  • Clean semolina, roast in ghee and remove on a wide plate to cool
  •   
  • Chop carrots, knol knol finely. Chop beans finely. Steam cook peas, carrot, knol-knol and beans after adding a pinch of turmeric 
  •   
  • Slice green chillies and onion into fine pieces. Chop tomatoes and coriander leaves. Grind ginger garlic and coconut into a paste. Dry grind cinnamon, clove and cardamom
  • In a wide mouthed pan, heat ghee. Fry green chillies and onions
  •  Add ground and powdered spices. Add salt and turmeric powder and stir. Add tomatoes and fry until mushy
  •    
  • Add two measures of water for one measure of semolina. When it boils well, add the vegetables and semolina. Stir well until it thickens
  •
