Peas Paneer Paratha

Peas and paneer are combined with whole wheat flour to make these delicious peas paneer parathas. This recipe is my Mom’s invention and is a family favorite paratha. Peas and whole wheat are both rich in fibre, so this is a nutritious paratha. I am sure your kids will love this paratha too, especially if they love paneer 😊

Serves: Around 15 small Parathas

Note: This recipe is tagged as toddler friendly, but please adjust the spice level when making it for your lil one

  • Green peas – 1 cup
  • Crumbled paneer – 1 1/2 cups
  • Ginger, half an inch finely chopped
  • Green chillies , 1-2 finely chopped
  • Coriander leaves, a small bunch finely chopped
  • Wheat flour – 2 1/2 cups
  • Oil or ghee to cook the Parathas
  • Salt, to taste

  • Steam cook the peas tender and grind into a coarse paste
  • Heat about a tablespoon of the oil and fry the peas paste light brown over a gentle flame
  • Chop up the chillies, ginger and coriander leaves and add them to the fried peas paste along with the paneer and salt. Mix well and cool. This is the stuffing
  • Add a pinch of salt and 1 tsp ghee to the wheat flour and knead it into a soft, pliable dough
  • Pinch off a small ball from the dough and roll into a small round. Place a little of stuffing in the centre, draw the edges, close and re-roll into a thick round
  • Cook the Paratha on a tava  to a golden brown using oil or ghee
  • Serve hot with pickle, raita or your favorite sukha subzi 😊

Enjoy 😊
