This is my next recipe in my series of Kids recipes. Moong dal squares is a quick and easy snack to prepare and very tasty as well. This is again from my mom’s collection, a recipe by Jyoti N Parekh

  • Moongdal paste – 1 cup
  • Thick buttermilk  – 1/2 cup
  • Tumeric powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Asafoetida, a pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Mixed vegetables (French beans, carrot, corn (optional) ) , chopped and boiled – 1/4 cup
  • Ghee – 1 tbsp

  • Mix all of the ingredients thoroughly
  • Melt ghee in a pan and add the mixture. Cook on slow heat and stir continuously
  • Keep stirring till the mixture comes together as one mass and does not stick to the sides of the pan
  • Take it out on a plate and allow to cool for sometime
  • Once cooled, cut into squares and enjoy 🙂
