Homemade Granola

Granola is a very healthy snack that you can indulge in at home or at work during a tea or coffee break. You can enjoy the granola as a snack, mix it with cornflakes for breakfast, or even enjoy it as parfait by combining it with yogurt and strawberry πŸ™‚

Makes approximately 10 cups of granola

  • Oatmeal – 4 cups (I used quaker plain old fashioned oats)
  • Wheat bran – 2 1/2 cups
  • Sunflower seeds – 1 cup
  • White sesame seeds – 1 cup
  • Desiccated coconut – 1 cup
  • Raw peanuts – 1 cup
  • Ground cinnamon – 2 tsp
  • Honey – 1/4 cup
  • Maple syrup or dates syrup – 1/4 cup
  • Vegetable oil – 1/2 cup

  • Mix all the dry ingredients in a large bowl
  • Heat the oil and pour along with honey and maple syrup
  • Pour slowly over the dry ingredients mixing thoroughly
  • Grease a shallow pan with butter or line it with parchment paper
  • Bake in the shallow pan at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for around 1 hour, stirring every 10-15 minutes (The time taken may differ from oven to oven). The granola is done when it is evenly browned and crisp
